Tony Johnson

I did not want to leave you all because I loved each of you in my own special way; but when God heard my secret cries, His death angels came to take me home. After sixty years of life, I welcomed my departure from this land because earth was never my permanent home. There is peace, joy, and serenity on this journey. My journey through this life is over, but my true journey has just begun! Don't cry for me but rejoice instead because I am now free and resting in my new home. 

Mr. Tony Johnson, affectionately known as “Phone”, Sandersville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday , November 28, 2024 at Wellstar MCG in Augusta, GA. 

Funeral  services were held on Sunday, December 8,2024 @ 2 p.m. at St. Galilee Baptist Church , Sandersville, GA . Rev. K.J. Jackson officiated. Burial followed in RestHaven  Cemetery . 
 

Tony is survived by his loving mother, Ms. Mattie Mae Johnson of Sandersville, GA; cherished daughter, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Rodnia (Darran) Moore of El Paso, TX; five sisters, Mrs. Rochelle Fleming, Ms. Diane Johnson, Ms. Joann Johnson, and Ms. Christine Johnson, all of Sandersville, GA, and Mrs. Shelia Washington of Tennille, GA; two brothers, Mr. Micheal Johnson and Mr. Henry “Nat” Wilson of Sandersville, GA; one aunt, Ms. Brenda Warthen of Sandersville, GA; one uncle, Mr. Linwood Warthen of Sandersville, GA; two grandchildren, Brayden Adams and Alexis Moore of El Paso, TX; devoted nephew, Kevin Johnson of Sandersville, GA; two devoted goddaughters, Kierra Wilcher and Rodnicca Wilcher; three god- grandsons, Jayceon Wilcher, Daryious Womble, and Derick Womble; best friend, Thomas (Brenda) Minor; devoted friend, Dan Fraley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
