With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the transitioning of Mrs. Serita Warthen, Sandersville , to the open arms of her creator on Saturday, May 27, 2023. surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 2,2023 at 2 p.m. @ Firebrand Church , Hwy 15 N, Sandersville , GA. Burial followed in the Archer Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted husband, Kenneth Warthen of Sandersville, GA; eight loving children, Destiny Shaw of Milledgeville, GA, Dontavius “Skip” Jones of Macon, GA, Victor D. Walker, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, GA, Antonio Jackson of Mt. Vernon, GA, Janyia Hightower of Athens, GA, Jaquana Warthen of Sandersville, GA, Keiona Warthen of Norfolk, VA, and Jada Warthen of Atlanta, GA; nine beloved grandchildren, Kamren Shaw, Karmen Shaw, Taylor Shaw, Ava Flonnory, K’Leigh Walker, Jayden Jackson, Au’Javion McRae, Khylan Warthen, and Jelani Warthen; one loving brother, Jeffery (Tamara) Wright Sr. of Tennille, GA;two uncles, Robert (Kesha) Edwards of Tennille, GA and Charlie Edwards of Warthen, GA; two aunts, Milas Fleming of Macon, GA and Brenda (Tommy) Carswell of Sandersville, GA; one devoted cousin, Tracy Fleming of Macon, GA; one great-uncle, Roosevelt (Gloria) Stafford of Aiken, SC; one great-niece, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, the entire Washington County High School class of 1987, Fort Valley State alumni, coworkers from Jet Food Stores, and all of her customers of Bartow, GA.
