Rogers Lee Whitaker

Mr.Rogers Lee Whitaker of Tennille, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the V.A. Medical Center, Dublin, Georgia, following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11 A.M. from the Samuel Grove Baptist Church, Highway 68, Tennille,GA .Rev. Eric Adams officiated. Interment

 l g followed in the church cemetery.

Rogers Lee was a long time resident of Washington County. He was born on January 24, 1947 to the parentage of Mary J. Whitaker and Mr. Sam Walker, who both preceded him in death. He was a lifelong member of Samuel Grove Baptist Church .

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Louise Whitaker, Tennille, GA; three children: Jacquelyn (Kerry) Maze, Tennille, GA, Danny (Carolyn) Whitaker, Warthen, GA, and Frederick (Erica) Beal, Ellenwood, GA; two brothers: Steve (Linda) Whitaker, Tennille, GA, and Dan May of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Debra (Johnny) Sanders, Sandersville, GA; seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; nine sister-in-laws; two brother-in-laws; a devoted niece and nephew, She’Londra Hilson and Isaiah Hilson (Macon, GA) who were like a daughter and grandson to him; and one God-son, Roderick Asberry (Tennille, GA) who he reared as his own son, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was iin charge of arrangements.
