Roberta (Cato) Young

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. It was during the early hours on December 11, 2023, at Heritage Inn Nursing Home that Mrs. Roberta Young heard the voice of the Lord bidding her to come home. She had been firmly planted in the faith and now it was time for her to be rewarded.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11am at St. Galilee Baptist Church, Sandersville. Bishop Jessie Mountain officiated. Interment followed at New Baptist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by; her children: Yvonne (Willie) Warren, Sparta, GA, Latassha (Thomas) Liyatt, Sandersville, GA; Willie Young (Cynthia Andrews), Sandersville, GA, Jimmy (Rhonda) Young, Winston, GA, Jerry (Shavon) Young, Billy (Tracy) Young both of Sandersville, GA; siblings: Mary Cato, Sandersville, GA, Julie Geter, Decatur, GA, Hurbert (Mary) Cato; sisters-in-law: Shirley Cato, Mary E Cato both of Sandersville, GA, Lillie M Cato, Milledgeville, GA; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; devoted nieces: Janice Cato Gaston, Sharon Cato, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
