Mrs. Pearlie Mae Knight Brinkley, Warthen , entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 21, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 28, 2022 @1 p.m. at Middle Hill Baptist Church, Warthen, GA . Dec. Alonzo Crawford officiated. Burial followed in church cemetery.
Pearlie Mae Knight Brinkley was born May 29, 1951, to the late Lillian Brown Knight Spanks.
She was educated in the Washington County School System, graduating in 1970. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Pierce Brinkley, Sr. To this union one child was born, Pierce Brinkley, Jr.
At an early age, Pearlie joined the Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church later moving her membership to Middle Hill Missionary Baptist Church, New Life Apostle Church, and then to The House of David where she served as the head usher and door greeter.
Along with her parents and husband, Pearlie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Willie Lee Spanks, Jr., and her sister, Carrolyn Brinkley.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Pierce (Tara) Brinkley, Jr.; sister, Geraldine (William, Sr. ) White; grandchildren, Tianna Benson, Jayden Benson, Treyvon Benson, and Jaelynn Brinkley; devoted nieces, Carla Cooper and Salique (Nathaniel) Moore; devoted nephew, William (Larissa) White, Jr.; her heart and great-nephew, Carsten Brown; devoted great-niece Cayla Wiley-Johnson; great-nieces, Kiara Johnson, Trinity Watts, and NaJada Moore; devoted brothers-in-law, William White, Sr. and Ezekiel Brinkley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wheeler’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
