On Saturday, December 7, 2019, following injuries sustained in a house fire, Mrs. Patsy Mathes crossed over into that land of eternal rest.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11 A.M. from the Greater Springfield Baptist Church, 721 Jones Ave. Atlanta, GA .Rev. Tracy Wheeler, Sr., officiated. Interment followed in Monte Vista Biblical Gardens.
Deaconess Patsy (Pat) Jane Mathes was born to (late) William Kidd, Jr. and (late) Edna Kidd Parks on February 27, 1954 in Atlanta, Georgia. “Pat” as she was affectionately called was also raised by her maternal uncle and aunt, (late) Albert (AB) and (late) Lillian Grimes. The family was brought up in Christ through their membership at Greater Springfield Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories;her devoted husband, Deacon Eddie Mathes, her siblings, Johnny Carter, Vivian (Larry) Adams , Alan Kidd and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews ,other relatives and loved ones.
Wheeler's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
