Mrs. Matline Womble returned back to the open arms of her creator on Monday, December 21, 2020 in Nashville, TN.
Graveside services will be held onMonday, January 4, 2021 @ 1 p.m. at Wheeler’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tracy Wheeler officiating.
Matline W. Womble was born October 29, 1925 to Eddie Lee and Daisy Pearl Wilcher in Warthen, GA.
She married Ostelle Womble on August 17, 1940 and to this union was born one child, Ostene, whom preceded her in death.
Matline was baptized at an early age at Second Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She served faithfully on the Usher Board and as the church secretary. She was later appointed to the Mother’s Board.
She loved children and enjoyed keeping the neighborhood children. She also loved reading the Bible and cooking for the community. May her works speak for her; she will be greatly missed.
Matline leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted daughter Francess (Randy) Young of Nashville, TN; grandson, Andrew DeShawn Jackson of Nashville, TN; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Katrina (Robert) Thompson of Atlanta, GA; devoted cousins, including,James (Minnie) Murray, Sr. of Cincinnati, OH; devoted neighbor and friend, Mary Goodloe of Nashville, TN; God-granddaughter, Denise “Necie-pooh” Graves of Atlanta, GA; devoted friend, Carolyn Hatcher of Albany, GA; God-daughter, Susie (William) Woods, her second home, Atlanta, GA; and host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
