Martha (Daniels) Tukes

Mrs. Martha (Daniels) Tukes , age  85 of Davisboro, died peacefully on Friday , March 24, 2023 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center, Extended Care Facility in Sandersville after a brief illness.
 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 1,2023 at 11 a.m. @ Shiloh C.M.E. Church , Davisboro, GA. Rev . Willie Tukes Jr., officiated. Burial followed in Green Grove Baptist Church cemetery. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Willie Lee Tukes Sr. with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Washington County , GA, she was the daughter of the late Ulysses Daniels and Annie Lou (Williams) Daniels. 

She was an avid cook and baker. She loved spending time and talking with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time that she spent with her grandchildren , great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Martha was a member of the Shiloh C.M.E. Church where she served in many capacities, including missionary and church mother . 

Along with her parents and husband , she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie B. Adams ; grandson, Christopher Daniels and sisters, Mattie Florence Hicks , Dorothy Daniels and Sallie Lue Daniels. 

Martha leaves to cherish her memories,  5 children;Joanne Johnson, Lois (Marvin) Wells, Willie (Jacqueline) Tukes, Benny Tukes , and Roger (Angela) Tukes , 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren ; sisters, Cora Hicks, and Everline Daniels; daughters in law , Mary Alice Tukes and Annie Tukes, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends , including a devoted friend, Janie Jackson. 
 

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
