Marion was brought up in the House of God Church in Perrine, Florida. She professed a love and willingness to serve Christ at an early age.

Marion was a 1968 graduate of Miami Killian Senior High School. Shortly afterwards, she completed a cosmetology program for styling hair. She also became a certified nursing assistant via the AmeriCorps program. After she spent some time traveling the world, she raised her family in Miami, Florida. Remaining dedicated to her ministry, she attended Sunday school and studied the Bible faithfully.  Marion later became a member of Covenant Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Curtis Thomas.

In her professional life she worked various fulfilling jobs, including Southern Bell, prior to working at the Miami International Airport where she retired in 2016. In each position that she held, she was regarded as being attentive and having great work ethics. She was highly esteemed by coworkers.

Marion was a most loving, generous, and free-spirited person. She loved music and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. She would share her talent with many as she sang beautiful melodies. She was a very comedic person. She could be counted upon to transform a dreary mood into gut wrenching tears of joy and laughter. Along with her zest and passion for life, she enjoyed and had a great love for her family abound.

Marion leaves to cherish her, 7 loving children: with the late Rudolph DeMeritte Sr., daughter Angela DeMeritte of Alabama and son Rudolph Demeritte Jr. of Georgia; with the late Delmuntz Pearson Sr., daughter Nikko Demeritte-Pearson of Alabama; with James Brown, daughter Samantha Mitchell (Leon) of Florida, son Darrell Brown of Arkansas, and daughter Pennee Brown-Butler (Mark) of Florida; and with Pedro Lopez, son Christopher Lopez of Illinois.
