Maggie Wiley Obituary

Life has many struggles, and with the help of God, we are equipped to overcome the obstacles in our lives. Today is a challenging time in our lives, but we keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me. To those I am leaving behind, remember the good and troubled times, the laughter, the journey I’ve walked over the years, the exceptional life I lived until the very end. I know that my departure has created a gloomy situation in each of your lives but keep smiling and surely the sun will eventually shine through because death is inevitable. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest, I truly was blessed to live the four scores God promised.

Maggie Lean Wiley, affectionately known as “Mag,” was born on October 23, 1938, in Warthen, Georgia (Washington County), to the late Jimmy Wiley and Cora Allen Wiley. The youngest of ten siblings, she peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.

Mag received her early education at Mt. Olive Baptist Church School, where she also joined the church at a young age. Her faith remained central to her life, and she especially cherished the annual revival season, which brought her great spiritual joy.

A woman of simple pleasures, Mag found happiness in tending to her flowers and watching them flourish. She had a knack for solving puzzles and enjoyed baking—pound cakes being her specialty, though cooking was never her favorite task.

Mag was an avid sports enthusiast, with baseball being her passion. She, along with her beloved sisters Louise and Cora Lee, were devoted Atlanta Braves fans. The trio could often be found on three-way calls, cheering on their team with enthusiasm and loyalty.

At the tender age of 19, Mag embraced the responsibility of caregiver—a role she fulfilled with unwavering love and dedication until the passing of her eldest sister, Mrs. Louise Warthen.

Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will be forever cherished by her sister, Ms. Cora Lee Braddy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
