Lester “Bug” Carswell

Mr. Lester “Bug” Carswell, 727 Hagan Circle, Tennille, transitioned back into the open arms of his creator on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.  The transition took place at the Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, GA.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 @ 2 P.M.  from the Word of Life Church, Sandersville, GA. Rev. Tracy Wheeler, Sr. ,officiated. 

Burial followed in the Rest Haven cemetery . 

Bug, as he was affectionately called was born on January 27, 1966 to the parentage of the late Mr. Celester Carswell and Mrs. Ethel Mae Gilbert Carswell.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Joanne Carswell . 

Lester leaves to cherish his memories a life-long devoted companion of many years, Mrs. Minnie Mitchell of Tennille, GA; four daughters, Mrs. Wanda Spencer of Sandersville, GA, Ms. Rhonda Rachels of Jacksonville, FL, Ms. Shonda Mitchell and Ms. Jerrica Mitchell of Tennille, GA; three brothers, Mr. Glenn (Berean) Gilbert of Milledgeville, GA, Mr. Charlie(Deborah) Gilbert, of Sandersville and Mr. Willie C. (Angela) Carswell, of Sandersville; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann (Anthony) Watson of Milledgeville, GA, Ms. April Carswell of Tennille, GA, Mrs. Delois (Eric) Jordan of Sandersville, GA; six aunts, Mrs. Rosa Stanley, Ms. Eloise James, Ms. Ceola Jackson, Ms. Dorothy Ramsey, all of Augusta, GA; Ms. Artelia Dixon of Sandersville, GA and Ms. Juanita Laster of Haines City, FL; four uncles, Mr. Stevie Gilbert of Augusta, GA, Mr. Tommy Gilbert, Mr. Thomas Carswell, both of Sandersville, GA and Mr. Tommie Carswell of Oconee, GA;thirteen grandchildren with three devoted being reared as his own, Dontavious Martin, De’Aunte Scott and Karlis Rachels; four great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Mr. Bobby (Sandra) Renfroe; brother-in-law, Mr. Thomas Rachels of Warner Robins, GA; sisters-in-law, Ms. Mamie Burton of Tennille, GA and Mrs. Darlene (Ron) Campbell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
