Josephine Simmons

Mrs. Josephine Simmons , Sandersville, entered into eternal rest peacefully in her home on Monday, September 27, 2021.   

Funeral Services were held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the St. Galilee Baptist Church , Sandersville, GA . Burial followed in the Holly Spring Baptist Church cemetery.

Born and raised in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Emma C. Jackson .

“Mama Jo” as she was known by many is  survived by her children, Frank (Sara) Simmons, John ( Mae Alice ) Jackson, Joanne S. Haynes, Kathy ( Freddie) Blocker and Trina (Eddie) Latimore, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, sister, Georgia Fraley, NY, NY ;several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, as well as many cousins, other relatives, extended family  and friends.

Wheeeler’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
