Mr. Johnny “Pit” Walker , Sandersville, GA, returned to the open arms of his creator on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the Smith Nursing Care Facility, Sandersville.
Graveside services were held on Saturday Dec. 5, 2020 @ 11 a.m. at Sandersville City Cemetery, Sandersville, GA with Rev. Tracy Wheeler, officiating.
Mr. Johnny L. Walker was born in Sandersville, GA to the parentage of the late Mattie Will (Peeler) Walker and Elder Walker, Sr.
He attended T.J. Elder High School in Sandersville, GA and spent some time in Job Corps-largest nationwide residential career training program. After time in Job Corps, Mr. Walker worked for the following businesses: Smith-Sheppard Concrete Supply, Inc., Kentucky Tennessee Clay Company, Cypress Clay Company, and Marvin Seals Concrete Company in Sandersville, GA.
Mr. Walker enjoyed being people and spending time with his family. He had a huge heart and loved his wife, daughter,grandchildren and his family. He was truly a people person.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Elder Walker, Jr. and his sister, Annie Kate Jackson.
Mr. Walker leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 50 years, Lillie Pearl Walker of Sandersville, GA; daughter, Regeana L. White of Harker Heights, TX; brother, Larry Walker of Sandersville, GA; three grandchildren, Rantravis Walker of Augusta, GA, Brandon White and Aaliyah White of Harker Heights, TX; four sisters-in law, Minister Johnnie Hunter, Minister Myrtle Mazes, both of Sandersville, GA, Reba Cannida of Philadelphia, PA and Geraldine Mazes of Trenton, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, and three devoted friends, Alexander Sparks, Ernest Taylor, and Melvin Warthen.
