John T. Braswell

Life has many struggles, and with the help of God, we are equipped to overcome the obstacles in our lives. Death has invaded the Braswell family again. Today is a challenging time in our lives, but we keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me. To those I am leaving behind, remember the good and troubled times, the laughter, the journey I’ve walked over the years, and the exceptional life I lived until the very end.

Mr. John Braswell entered into eternal rest on Sunday . October 6,2024 at Chaplinwood Nursing home, Milledgeville, GA. 
 

Funeral services were held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11 AM. Rev. Ronald Brawner officiated. . Burial followed in the church cemetery. 

John Thomas Braswell, affectionately known as “Tom,” was born December 17, 1950, in Warthen, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mattie Pearl Braddy Braswell and the late James Braswell, Sr. At an early age, he was baptized and became a member of Holly Spring Baptist Church.
John Thomas Braswell transitioned from this life on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Chaplinwood Health and Rehabilitation in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a graduate of  T.J. Elder High School, Sandersville, Georgia, in 1969. After graduating high school, he relocated to Virginia and New York. He furthered his training by becoming a certified electrician and a glassier. He worked in the trade industry for several years, until health challenges forced him to retire and relocate back to Warthen, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memories, five brothers, James Braswell, Jr., Michael Brozell, Tommy Brozell, Jeffery Brozell, and Timothy Brozell; four sisters, Alice Braswell, Dorothy Braswell, Colleen Brozell, and Anita Blake; nephew, Corey Braswell; four nieces, Khelia Braswell, Yushishia Watson, Ayannah Braswell, and Ceniyah Braswell; four aunts, Eloise Braddy, Barbara Ann (Herman) Burten, Bertha Braddy, and Cora Lee Braddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles , other relatives and friends. 

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
