Jewel Lucas Obituary

When my earthly life is over, I have aways wondered what my journey to my new home would be like. Don’t worry about me, because my Heavenly Father was there to guide me home.
 

Mrs. Jewel Lucas , formerly of Tennille, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 6, 2024 in Chicago, Il. 
 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. at T. Elder Community Center Sandersville, GA. Rev. Tracy Wheeler Sr. officiated. Burial followed  in the Union Hill Baptist Church cemetery. 

Mrs. Jewel Lucas was born March 15, 1940, to the parentage of the late Mr. Jessie James, Sr., and Mrs. Annie Lou Burnette James.
Mrs. Lucas moved from Tennille, Georgia, to Chicago, Illinois, several years ago. She was a housewife who enjoyed loving and supporting her family. She was married to the late James Earl Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Earl Lucas; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Bell Harris (Marion, Ohio) and Mrs. Annie Rose London(Chicago, Illinois); seven brothers, Mr. Jesse James, Sr. , Bob James , 
Horace James, George James, Sr.,  Alex James, Albert James and Morris James  all of Tennille, Georgia; a devoted niece, Doris Jordan (Chicago, Illinois).
Mrs. Lucas leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces and nephews and two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Geraldine James and Mrs. Erin James both of Tennille, GA. 

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
