Mr. Henry N. Bass Jr., was called to eternal rest on Sunday. October 4, 2020 at the Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital, Griffin , GA.
Graveside services were held on Saturday , October 10, 2020 at 2 :30 p.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Garden, Forest Park , GA. Rev. Tracy Wheeler Sr officiated .
Henry was born on August 16th, 1934 to Henry Bass Sr. and Carrie Ingram Bass.
Although born and raised in Century Florida; Henry was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn New York.
Henry had a passion for helping others. He was active in his community and his church as he served as a trustee, Custodian and as a Deacon at Second Calvary Baptist Church in Brooklyn, Ny. He retired after 30 years of working as a supervisor at Great Eastern Plastic, Inc. Henry loved his family, friends, community and his church. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Bass Sr. and Carrie Ingram Bass; brother, Lawrence Bass; and his best friend Eddie Jefferson.
Henry leaves his behind his wife, Mamie Bass (Sandersville, GA) ; his son, Gregory Bass (Sandersville, GA): his daughter, Venus Bass Kay (Eric); three sisters, Altha Scott (Century, FL); Sheila Bright (Detroit, MI) and Linda Johnson ( Columbus, GA)sisters-in-law, Ruby Bass (Columbus, Ga),and Lizzie McCall (Boston, Massachusetts)five grand-children, Lamont Spillers ( Newark, NJ); Tavarous Saint-Louis (Yves) of Decatur, GA; Donnie Spillers ( Brooklyn, NY) Eric Anthony Kay of Hampton, GA and Shalarlotte Spillers (Newark, NJ). Three great-grandchildren, Amara Spillers (Newark, NJ) Eric Anthony Jr (Atlanta, Ga) and Yves Olivia Saint-Louis ( Decatur, Ga). Extended family, Tess Cook, Larry Cook and Gloria (Melvin)Howard ; Five lifelong friends, Reverend Earlie B. Felder Sr. (Saratoga, NY); John “Fox” Carter,New York); Joe Frazier, North Carolina ); David Knight (Century, FL) and Derrick Barnard (Brooklyn, NY) and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wheeler’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
