Geneva (Kitchens) Bell

Mrs. Geneva Kitchens Bell, Chattanooga,TN, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 27,2023. 
 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 2 p.m. @ 2nd Mineral Spring Baptist Church , 7359 Hamburg State Park Rd., Mitchell, GA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Geneva , was born on November 15, 1930, to the late Charlie and Otis Kitchens. She passed away on June 27, 2023.

Geneva accepted Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. She worked 12 years at Howard Johnson’s in environmental services. She also worked for 20 years for the Fassnacht family of Fassnacht & Sons. Her last place of employment prior to retirement was with the Johnny Hanes family.

Geneva was a devoted matriarch to her family and friends. She was always there for them when they needed her. She and her sisters established the first “Kitchens Reunion”. She was very talented and gifted in sewing, cleaning, and cooking, specializing in greens and pinto beans.

Geneva was loved by so many people. She was the best mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Otis Kitchens; husband, George Bell; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Those left to cherish her many memories are her sons, Obie (Linda) Bell of Douglasville, GA and Wille Bell; daughters, Betty Coe, Dorothy (Ricky) Stewart, Wanda Bell, Bertha (Demetris) Tate, and Cassandra Robinson, all of Chattanooga; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
