Weep not for me, though I am gone into that gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul’s sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul’s at rest. ere is no need for tears. For with your love, I was so blessed. Family and friends, please accept the will of God, because a loving and awesome God knows what best for each of us. I want each of my family members and friends to begin your journey of healing by remembering the joy that we shared through pictures, mementos, and favorite stories both funny and sad. Let your minds wander the path of remembrance, reliving the joy and good times we have had.

Mr. Garry Johnson, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 10, 2025 at his residence. 
 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 @ 3 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, Sandersville, GA. Rev. Tracy B. Wheeler St. officiated. Burial followed in the Sandersville City Cemetery. 
 

Garry fell asleep in death on January 10, 2025. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his, daughter, Baby Girl Johnson, brother, Kelvin Johnson, grandparents, Arlene Poole, Hattie Brown, Sam Curry, and Thomas Brown Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Kathleen Williams Johnson, Sandersville, GA; Step-father, Charles Cullens, Sandersville, GA; children, Garren Johnson, Anthony(Margie) Williams, both of Tennille, Shonda Washington, Tametris (Gary) Merrell, Roderick(Shernita)Parham all of Sandersville, GA; sisters, Angie Jackson, Milledgeville, GA, and Darlene Brown, Denver CO; brothers, Wayman (Sandra) Johnson, Sandersville, GA, and Rodney Brown, Las Vegas, NV; sisters-in-law, Joyce Ann (Willie) Gardner, and Ann Kitchens, both of Sandersville, GA; thirty-three grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren;devoted nephew, Marcus Johnson, Sandersville, GA; devoted cousins, Robert Reynolds, Sandersville, GA, Margaret Brown, Ann Brown, and Johnia Newby, all of Boston MA; devoted friends, Travis (Lakiera) Tomlin, Ron Latimer, Joe B. Jiles 111, Racie Warthen, Nicholas Haynes, Michael Haynes, Chris Haynes, Melvin Jackson, and David Cuyler, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
