Ernest Cannon

Although I have finished my earthly course of life, remember I am always with you in spirit. When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart. For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.

Ernest Cannon departed for eternal rest on August 17, 2026, at the Wellstar Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. 

Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 23,2026 at 4 p.m. @ Wheeler’s Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Tracy Wheeler Sr. officiated. 

Ernest was born on November 2, 1954, to the late B.C. Cannon and the late Minnie Lee Collins.

On August 17,2026, Mr. Ernest Cannon, peacefully transitioned from labor at the Wellstar Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: seven daughters, Kenyatta Gamble, Shilonda (Brandon) Brown, Tomeka Cannon, Tiffany Jones, Nika Tillman, Drucilla Tillman, and Courtney Tillman.

He also leaves 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren to carry on his legacy of love and cherished memories.

He is also survived by four sisters and one brother, along with devoted nephews Wayne Sanders and Alex Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his lifetime friend, Connie Horn, and devoted friend, Sheila Bruins.

He will also be fondly remembered by his good friends: Keith Bryant, Mandela Brown, Wallace Taylor, Therman Mason, Tommy Knight, Mary Nell Sanders, Wylie Dennis, AlbertTravet, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

Though he is no longer with us, his love, kindness, friendship, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him will remain in their hearts forever.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
