Eric Haynes Obituary

My life was beautiful, for as long as it lasted, but this journey of my life has come to an end. Please find comfort in knowing that I have no regrets whatsoever because I had a fun and adventurous life. Some things in life are impossible for mankind to fully understand. My life on Earth was brief, but don’t prolong it with unnecessary grief. This was the plan God had for me, so family and friends, God has set me free. I don’t have to worry about the troubles of this world anymore. I have gone on to be with those loved ones who have gone before me.

Eric Haynes entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at TJ Elder Community Center, 316 Hall Street, Sandersville, GA. Interment followed in the Sandersville City Cemetery.

On February 24, 1974, an adventurous baby boy, Eric Bernard Haynes, was born to the late Joyce Haynes and the late Ralph Brooks, Jr. He received his formal education in the Washington County, Georgia public school system.

When our time on earth has ended, money and material possessions no longer matter.

What mattered most to Eric was the love, time, and kindness he extended to others throughout his life. He departed this life on January 21, 2026.

In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Enrico Haynes; his grandparents, Ralph Brooks, Sr. and Corena Brooks; and his uncle, Sammie Lee Haynes.

During his fifty-one years of earthly life, Eric was blessed to share his abundant love with many people. He was deeply grateful for the role each person played in his journey and leaves behind cherished memories with those who survive him: his devoted wife, Phillina Jones Haynes; children, Jontavious Jones of Melbourne, Florida, Eurica Jones and Brandon Jones, both of Titusville, Florida, and Patrice (Preston) Smith of Dublin, Georgia; bonus children, Quintauis Jones of San Antonio, Texas, and Kemoni Crutchfield of Melbourne, Florida; sister, Amina Brooks of Wrightsville, Georgia; brother, Christopher (Shannon) Brooks of Sandersville, Georgia; aunts, Malinda Haynes, Elmorris Haynes, and devoted aunt Ester Brooks, all of Sandersville, Georgia; uncles, Freddie (Kathy) Blocker, Edward Brooks, Charlie Haynes, Oscar Haynes, and Marshall (Gloria) Haynes; devoted cousins, Chequita Brooks and Lakeshia Brooks; several grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
