It is with deepest sympathy that Wheeler’s Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Elbert “Pap” Howard Jr.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 1 p.m. from the St. James C.M.E. Church , Warthen, GA with Rev. Tracy Wheeler officiating.
Elbert Howard, Jr., returned to the open arms of his Creator on July 11, 2020 at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro, GA.
Mr. Howard was born on August 17, 1946 to the parentage of the late Elbert Howard, Sr. and Willie Mae Howard in Warthen, GA.
He worked with Smith Sheppard Company for many years. Not only was Elbert a hard-working man, he also enjoyed logging and being a D.J.
Along with his parents, Mr. Howard is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ester Berry Clayton, Charlie Barksdale, Julia Moss Howard, and Charlie Howard; siblings, Charles Howard, Johnnie Mae Smith, and Marie Foster and adopted brother, L.C. “Jeff” Bivins.
Mr. Howard leaves to cherish his many memories, his son, Michael (Betty) Miller; brothers, Thomas Howard of Milledgeville, GA, and Donald (Mary) Harris of Dublin, GA; devoted sisters, Jane Hicks of Dover, DE, Julia Francis Hunter of Warner Robins, GA, and Annie Grienko Milton, FL; four grandchildren, Antonio Miller, Christopher Miller, Rodriquez (Paulette) Middleton, and Shawanna Middleton; six great-grandchildren Raekayla Middleton, Raekia Middleton, Demetrius Prosser, Jr. Messiah Middleton, Malaysia Kitchens, and Maleah Kitchens; devoted nieces Angela Merrell and Jacqueline (B.F.) Harris; adopted children, Moneyque Moment, Jr. and Angela Moment; adopted sister, Marie (David) Ellison; devoted friends, Yorker family, Swint family, Annie Moment, Mary Irwin, Thomas Canty, Willie Leroy Sutton, Annie Julia Johnson, Bernistine Landers, Melvin Smith, and John Allen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
