Dorothy Walker

Dorothy  Walker 83, gained her wings and entered into eternal rest on Sunday,  August 6, 2023 at her residence in Columbia, SC, surrounded by the love of her family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 @ 2 p.m. at Kingdom Advancement Ministries, Jordan Mill Rd., Sandersville, GA with Rev. Allen Davis , officiating with burial to follow. 
 

Dorothy was born in Washington County,  Georgia to the parentage of the late Neal Grooms and Leary  Grooms. 

She was a Washington County resident for many years and was employed at Oconee Healthcare in her early years of life.  
She was preceded in death by her late husband William Merrell Sr., her sons Leon and Danny Merrell. and siblings Vinny Lee Smith, Ella Mae Merrell, Mary Darrisaw, Bobby Lee Grooms.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories and to celebrate her life; one daughter, Dorothy (Leonard) May, Columbia, SC, two sons,  William Lee (Janet) Merrell, Tennille, GA, Ricky Merrell, Atlanta, GA , 20 grandchildren; 

Shanice (Steve) Streeter, Christopher (Jessica) May, Cedric (Teomna) Eagle, Marcus Eagle, Rhonda Merrell, Kimberly Merrell, Allen (Shanta) Merrell, Xavier Merrell, Robert Merrell, Kiyundra Merrell, 

Areyanna Merrell, Khylan Merrell, Brad (Felisha) Harper, Ricky (Kelly) Merrell Jr, Shaneva ( Cha-Ronn) Merrell, Johnathan Pinkston, Octavious (Renee) Merrell, Antwan Upshaw, Brittney Upshaw, Rashad (Shanika) Talington. Siblings: Ruth Grooms and Willie Pearl Archer,  and special friend Bertha Dawson and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
