Ms. Dorothy Purdie returned back to the open arms of her creator on Tuesday, August 4,2020 at the Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, GA.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday , August 15, 2020 @ 11 a.m. at the Holly Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Warthen , GA with Rev. Tracy Wheeler Sr. , officiating.
Dorothy Jean Braddy Purdie was born on June 24, 1961 to the parentage of the late Mr. Milton Braddy and late Mrs. Ollie Mae Braddy.
“Dot”, as she was affectionately called, graduated from Washington County High School and immediately following graduation, she joined the U.S. Army. At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined Holly Spring Missionary Baptist Church.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her children, Rachel P. Purdie, Kevin D. Purdie, Michael D. Purdie and Meghan L. Purdie; siblings ,Shirley A. Mills, Ray A. Braddy, Martha A. Braddy, and Sharon D. Braddy; grandchildren Kayden Purdie, Michael Anderson, and Christian Washington; three uncles, Aaron (Martha )Jones,Bennie Jones and John K. Cummings, aunts, Bertha Burton,Lino Mitts, Margaret Jones, Barbara Ann (Herman) Eloise Braddy, Minnie Tucker, Rudene Horton, and Lula (Sanford) Burton, great uncle, Andrew Gay, great aunt, Lucille Weems, eleven nieces, six nephews and a host of other relatives and friends including a devoted friend, Keith N. Griffin.
