I did not want to leave you all because I loved each of you in my own special way, but when God heard my secret cry, His death angels came to take me back to my Heavenly Father. This day is my reason for living holy. I knew that only the righteous shall see God. After only eighty years of life and many trials and tribulations, I welcomed my departure from this land because this world was never meant to be my permanent home. There was peace and serenity on my journey home. My journey through this life is over, but my true journey has just begun! Don’t cry for me but rejoice instead because I am now free.

  Mrs. Dorothy Gilmore entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Fairview Park Hospital , Dublin, GA . 

Funeral services were held on Sunday , March 30,2025 @ 3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasent Baptist Church Church , Wrightsville , GA. Pastor James T.  Jackson officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. 
 

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories with her son, Melvin Devero of Wrightsville, GA; sister, Florence Parks of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Robert (Evealene) Braddy of Sandersville, GA; bonus son, Rick (Mary) Devero of Wrightsville, GA; seven grandkids, Sheron Davis, Kytrina (Vincent) Mclaister, Jacquelyn Devero, Tedrick Cannon, Felisha (Brad) Harper, Lovondrick Graham, and Kaitlynn Devero; nine great-grandkids; two great-great- grandkids; a special great-niece and family, Shontarius (Courtney) Jackson, Ma’Kaysia Devero, Ja’Caden Webb, and Chanze Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements .
