Daisy Cullens Obituary

It is with deepest sympathy that Wheeler’s Funeral Home announce the death of Mrs. Daisy L. Cullens, of Sandersville Georgia 

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, July 15,  2020 at 2 p.m. at the Brownwood Cemetery, Sandersville, GA.Rev. Henry L. Tanner officiated.

Daisy Lee Cullens, lifelong Sandersville resident, was called from labor to reward in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 surrounded by the presence and warmth of her loved ones at her bedside.

Daisy Lee ,as she was proudly known, was born on November 27, 1933 to the parentage of the late Mr. Louis Cullens and late Mrs. Annie Mae Randall Cullens. 

She attended Washington County public schools and joined Robin Spring Baptist Church and later joined Highland Park Church where she served with  pride in being the Mother of the church. She was a domestic worker over 60 plus years and was loved by all that knew her. 

Daisy Lee was preceded in death by  two sons, Mr. Carter Tyrone Cullens and Mr. Harvey Cullens, siblings, Louis Cullens, Claudia Cullens Bell and Johnnie Cullens.

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories; her children, Mr. Donnie Mitchell of Sandersville, GA, Kenneth (Mae Nena) Cullens of Savannah, GA, Michael Cullens, Charles (Van) Cullens, Annette (Freddie) Armstrong, Sharon (Wallace) Taylor, Stephanie Dunn, Vallie Shapel Credle;  two loving brothers, Mr. Willie (Bessie) Cullens of Sandersville, GA, and Mr. Marion Cullens of Atlanta, GA; thirty-one grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Daisy Lee was loved and admired by all and had friends from every generation including special friends which she considered as her extended family to include;Linda Ray McDaniel and family of Sandersville, GA, Beth Haynes of Sandersville, GA, Becky (Rob) Vinson of Atlanta, GA,  Linda C. Booth, Tonya (Taylor) Booth and family, Diane Mathis, and Audrey (Wilbur) Jones and family. 

Daisy Lee will be remembered by all who loved her for her endless warmth and generosity as well as her trademark spirit of persistence.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
