Mr, Bobby Mazes, transitioned back to the open arms of his creator on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center, Sandersville, GA.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10 a.m at Camp Spring Baptist Church , 9919 Old Savannah Rd, Sandersville, GA .( Immediate family only. )
Bobby L. Mazes, was born January 11, 1956 in Sandersville, Georgia to the late K.D. Hilson, Sr. and Mattie Lee Hilson.
As a young child, Bobby was a loner and a quiet storm and he always demonstrated his independence and desire to be his own man. Bobby was artistic and enjoyed the outdoors. He would often wonder off from home on ventures as he became a young man. Bobby joined the military and upon completion of his service became a professional chef.
To the family, Bobby’s unwavering love of freedom allowed him to meet many people around the United States. They loved his kindness and giving spirit.
Bobby graduated from Washington County High School, Sandersville Georgia in 1974 after which he signed up and went to a Job Corp training program where he learned cooking skills. He later joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia as a military chef. After the military, he became a “Top Hat Chef” at a large Restaurant chain. During this time, he also became a proud father of one son.
Bobby is survived by one son, Lataddie Mazes of Texas, four sisters, Hazel Waller, Mabelene Aycock (Robert), Mattie M. Howell, Betty A. Hilson and one brother, Carl Hilson and one granddaughter. Bobby was preceded in death by two brothers, his elder brother John Willie Mazes, and younger brother K.D. Hilson Jr. Bobby has a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends that loved him very much.
