Aretha Thomas

Ms. Aretha Thomas , Tennille, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 26,2022 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center, Sandersville, GA. 
 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Wheeler’s Funeral Home Event Center,Sandersville. Rev. Roy Grissom officiated .Burial followed  in the Georgia Grove Baptist Church cemetery. 

Ms. Aretha Thomas was born January 10, 1965, in Oconee, Georgia, to Mary Brown Thomas and Matthew Thomas. Aretha was raised and adored by her loving parents, the late Mr. Matthew Thomas and Mary Thomas.

Aretha attended D.D. Crawford Elementary School, in Tennille, Georgia, Washington County High School in Sandersville, Georgia, graduating with the class of 1983.

Aretha experienced in life a sincere love for God, her family, and everyone she came in contact with.

Aretha leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted mother, Mary Brown Thomas of Tennille, GA; Ms. Scelly Darrisaw of Tennille, GA; sisters, Pamela (Milton) Thomas Williams, Denise (Lucius) Glynn, both of Atlanta, GA, Betty (Larry) Darrisaw, and Lisa (Jarrod) Thomas of Tennille, GA; brothers, Jamie Thomas of Atlanta, GA, and Charles Warthen of Tennille, GA; aunts, Ms. Linda (Johnnie) Brown, Ms. Doretha Owens of Tennille, GA, Ms. Marilyn Maddox of Philadelphia, PA, Ms. Helen Raines and Ms. Emma D. Amy of Cleveland, OH; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.

Wheeler’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
