Husband, dad, brother,and granddad were some of the most cherished roles J. L. Andrews played during his lifetime.He quietly passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018, after an extended illness at the Oconee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Oconee, GA.Born to the parental name of Joe Lewis, he became known and loved by all as “J.L.”
J.L., as we all know him,was quick to greet you with a warm smile and a lending hand; for he was truly a man of strong morals. Born on July 3, 1937 and raised in Washington County, Andrews attended the public schools and was employed by Kentucky Tennessee Clay Company until retiring after 30 plus years of service.He loved fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his family.
Many love ones will carry on his memory including his wife, Mary, of Warthen, GA. Daughters;Linda (Jesse) Mountain of Tennille, GA,Brenda (Wayne) Andrews, and Janice (Thomas)Gilbert of Sandersville, GA.Sisters; Mrs. Louise Lawson of Orlando,Florida,Mrs. Dorothy Stephens and Mrs. Katherine Hamilton,both of Sandersville, GA.Brothers; Mr. Deleanor Andrews of Warthen, GA and Mr. Willie Ruth (Rosa Mae) Andrews of Sandersville, GA.Uncle; Mr. James Andrews of Atlanta, GA. Aunts; Mrs. Elizabeth Andrews of Atlanta, GA and Mrs. Emma Andrews of Sandersville, GA .Brother-in-law;Mr.Willie Albert (Annie)Robinson, Sandersville,GA Nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Lillie Mae and Primus Andrews and siblings, Primus, Jr. and Minnie Lee Wilcher. He is also survived by a few special and devoted friends including Mr. Herbert Taylor,Mr. Fred Brookins,Mr. Melvin Warthen, Mr. Joseph Mountain, and Mr. Steve Grant.
