Dorothy Louise (Jones) Hogan

 Our beloved Dorothy transitioned from this life in the comfort of her home on December 30, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 7,2020 from the St. Galilee Baptist Church, Sandersville, GA  with  the Rev. Manzie T. Broxton, officiating. Burial followed in the Bay Springs Baptist Church cemetery. 

Dorothy Louise Jones, the daughter of the late Mr. Valda and Mrs. Reba Jones, was born in Sandersville, GA on October 23, 1941. She received her primary education in the public schools of Washington County and graduated from T. J. Elder High School.

Dorothy was baptized at an early age at Bay Springs Baptist Church. She began her career as a Health Service Technician at Central State Hospital where she faithfully remained employed until she retired.

She was an extremely talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. She was a dedicated mother of six children, who could be seen at football games, track meets, wrestling matches, school carnivals, and PTA meetings supporting her children. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Mr. And Mrs. Valda and Reba Jones, her daughter Ms. Barbara Ann Spikes, her granddaughter Ms. Sierra Simmons, and her brother Mr. Robert Jones.

Cherishing the memories of her, she leaves: her sons Chief Master Sergeant (Retired) Tommy Lee Spikes II (Keisha) of Dallas, Texas and Mr. William Lee Hogan Jr. (Lekisha) of Jonesboro, GA. Her daughters, Ms. Rongelyn Hogan (Eddie) of Milledgeville, GA, Ms. Veronica Hogan (Dexter) of Conyers, GA, and Ms. Allis Waller of Clarksville, TN. Her sisters Betty Jones of Brooklyn, NY, and Mrs. Virginia Jones (Thomas) of Sandersville, GA. 25 Grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
